Sairee Beach& The Pagoda: Koh Tao

When you are planning to go to Koh Tao, expect a long trip from Chiang Mai…two planes (2hours), one bus (2, 5 hours), and one catamaran (3, 5 hours). We arrived with Jerome on the island at around 7 PM. We went straight to our hotel (who was at the opposite where the people go partying ). We decided the next day to take the shuttle from the hotel (to avoid again to bargain for a taxi at a high price) to walk on Sairee Beach, and we wanted to have some beautiful views. We went to the Pagoda (a little temple hidden somehow in the vegetation and nobody knew about it). The walk to go there was strenuous…(it was like climbing ), but it was charming, and we didn’t see anybody. When we came down, we saw the sunset, and it was beautiful, but all the bars were filled with too many tourists (I’m not very fan of this kind of place, it is always too crowded for me)!! This small island is charming, and all the divers love it in the world. But this island is known as well to have a drinking problem. So glad that we weren’t out at night, and just enjoying our view from the cute little restaurant very near the beach in our hotel.
