As you all know, I love the mountains, so it’s not because we moved to Quebec for now that we couldn’t enjoy some mountains.
And I found the perfect stop in Mont Tremblant National Park, Pic Johannsen, which is at 932m.
Where is Pic Johannsen located?
It is located in Mont Tremblant National Park. And it’s not very far away from the toll, both at the first intersection, which goes to Le Centenaire hike. You can park your car in the parking there if you arrive early in the morning or you can park almost at the entrance of the trail.
Information about this trail?
Officially, the trail is 14 km both ways: 7km up and 7km up with an elevation gain of 718 meters. But apparently, once I did my research, I discover it was more than 16 km! So I understand why this morning all my body is aching so much!!!
Is this trail difficult?
For sure, this trail is classified as t as it is 580 meters climb for 7 km!
But, the beginning of the trail follows the river stream La Pruche and it is beautiful and expect to have tons of mosquitos on you and get beaten when you stopped!
What can you expect once at the top?
I love hiking because you get there for the view most of the time and enjoy your sandwich with the view! So, too bad for you, but there is no view at the top, just an engraved commemorative plaque.
But on your way up, you will have a few viewpoints that are nice but not the best ones. You will never see the Toit des Laurentides, but anyway, enjoy your hike up. Just be careful, because it can get slippery, wet and muddy and you will have to deal with a lot of tree roots!
What do I think about this trail?
I really wanted to hike the highest mountain in the Laurentides, and I did it, so I’m proud of myself, but I was expecting more views so I will choose other parts of the Park next time and that’s ok, it’s why I love hiking as every time I can discover a new place to explore.
