Today, we again drove from Moosomin to Saskatoon for almost 6 hours in Saskatchewan. But before doing it, I was checking online where we could make a stop. Because let’s be honest, when you have to drive that long, you want to enjoy what’s around!
And I found this place where the lake is salted, which is uncommon here in Canada! So we decided to make it a try, and it’s worth it.
The place is in Watrous, more than an hour south from Saskatoon in the middle of nowhere (so glad that we have a GPS), and the location is called Manitou beach.
Some people come here to benefit from the virtues of this water. So this is why the place is called the Dead Sea of Canada! Some people were floating (I did that, and the sensation is incredible, but when you want to go for a swim, it can be tricky because your foot and legs are not supposed to be outside the water!). A man had some mud on him (and I try that too). Then after that, we drove to Saskatoon and find a fantastic place to eat called Odla, where the ingredients come directly from Farm to table. I always loved this kind of concept where you know where the ingredients are coming from, and they are local and organic (I should one day be my boss and do something like that…sorry for my future students).
