Where is Zion National Park?
We decided to start our road trip from Las Vegas, and once we had our rental car, we get out directly from the town to enjoy the beauty around!
It is 163 miles away (which was not bad for our first stop!)
Zion National Park is located on State Route 9 in Springdale, Utah. The mileages below represents the distance from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
This National Park is great because it is not far from other great National Park like Bryce National Park, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, and many more.
After a lot of wind during the night and decided to watch the stars in the middle of the night, we woke up at 6:00 AM to walk to Zion National Park, where they have all these shuttles to do all the hiking you want.
How did we travel to the park?
We loved that in this park, you have to jump on a shuttle, and you can stop where you want. We had to walk from your camping in the morning try early (it was around 6 AM). And if you think about it, it’s fewer cars in the park, so it’s better for the environment! I love this idea. A little trick, if you plan to do there for your whole day, go directly at the very end stop Temple of Sinawava and go to The Narrows (it’s a great place, but many people are there too )
Here is the link on the shuttles and how to use them:

Which stop did we make?
We went first to the Narrows, where you hike in the water (actually the water was cold), it was quite tricky because you tried to stand up and not fall in the water. The current was powerful (actually, when we left the visitor center, they told us to be aware of the flash flood. Then after a little 3 hours of hiking in the water, we went to Weeping Rock, where the young Mormon David Flanigan find an original way to transport pine trees through the mesa by using the gravity and some pulleys. This mechanism worked from 1901 to 1927!
Then we went to the Kayenta Trail and the Emeralds Pools Trails (it was supposed to be three waterfalls, but it was so small, it hadn’t rain so much these past days!), the afternoon hike was so exhausting, and it was so hot!!!!
Why we loved this park?
We loved this National park because it was the first one we did (I don’t know if it counts!), and we loved so much this idea of the shuttle. It is essential to respect the environment, and in this kind of place, you want even more to protect it!!!!
The colors in this park are incredible, and if you love to take some pictures, it is the perfect place.
I love walking in the water in The Narrows. It is a great experience to have and try not to fell in the water (especially when you have your camera!!!)
Enjoy this park!
